Create Assignments from Hub Grid & Search
We’re introducing a new way to create assignments directly from Search and the Hub Assignment grid, without needing to navigate away from where you are working.
Assign content library files from the Search
You can now create assignments directly from Search using the new Assign action, available on supported file types in your content library, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF.
Selecting 'Assign' opens the 'Create Assignment' form with the file already pre-selected, allowing you to quickly create a document-level assignment.
These assignments are displayed in the Assignment grid with the document as the location and can be easily identified using the existing Document assignment type filter.
Create Assignments directly from the Assignments gid view in your Hub
You can now create assignments directly from the ‘Assignments’ grid view.
Selecting ‘Create’ in Assignments opens the ‘Create Assignment’ form, where you can either optionally assign a file using the new file picker that displays a list of Recently Used Files, or simply create a Hub-level Assignment.
Hub-level Assignments are a new type of Assignment that allow you to create tasks at the Hub level and are not associated to a particular Pursuit or to a file. We’ve also added a new option to the Assignment Type filter option so that you can easily filter ‘Hub’ Assignments.
Key benefits
- Create assignments directly from Hub and Search
- Quickly assign documents or general tasks assignments for team members
- Improve collaboration by involving contributors faster
Key use cases:
- Managing general tasks using hub-level assignments
- Streamlining collaboration across teams and content

File Assignments Content Picker
We’re improving the assignment creation experience by introducing a Content picker directly within the Assignment Create form.
Previously, users needed to leave the assignment form to locate documents in Pursuits or search across available content before returning to complete the assignment. With this update, users can now select content directly within the form, making it faster and easier to create assignments without interrupting their workflow.
The new Content dropdown provides a combined view of Pursuit content and Recently Used documents, helping users quickly find and assign the files they need.
Key benefits
- Quick access to relevant content during assignment creation
- Faster assignment creation
- Reduced navigation between product areas
Key use cases:
- Proposal managers assigning documents during active pursuits
- Bid writers selecting relevant files while creating assignments for contributors

Dynamic Content Smart Fields: Support for ‘Recently Used’ file selection
We’re enhancing the document creation experience by introducing support for Recently Used files directly within Dynamic Content Smart Fields.
Users can now quickly view and select from their personalized list of recently used files without needing to navigate through connected Content Sources. This reduces the time spent locating frequently referenced documents and makes it easier to insert relevant content into Smart Templates.
Template Designer users can enable this functionality within Smart Templates by selecting the ‘Recently Used’ option when configuring a Dynamic Content Smart Field.
Key benefits
Quick access to recently used files, reducing time spent searching
Streamlined document creation workflow
Personalized file visibility at the point of document creation
Key use cases:
For bid writers and proposal managers working under tight deadlines who need to quickly access recently used files
Creating new documents using recently referenced content
2. Document-Level Assignments: Support for PDF Files
Previously, document-level assignments supported only Microsoft Office file types such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. With this release, we are expanding assignment capabilities to include PDF files directly within Pursuit Content.
Many bid processes involve drafting proposals in Office applications and then converting them to PDF for client delivery. The PDF reflects the final layout, formatting, and presentation exactly as the client will see it. Until now, these PDFs could not be assigned for review or approval within a Pursuit.
This enhancement allows teams to seamlessly create, manage, and track PDF assignments within Pursuits, keeping collaboration centralized and streamlined.
Key benefits
Assign PDFs directly from Pursuits for formal review and approval
Streamlined document review processes for finalized proposals
Improves visibility, accountability, and collaboration across the bid lifecycle
Centralizes assignment tracking within the Pursuit workspace
Key use cases:
For bid teams reviewing final PDFs before submission to clients
For proposal managers and SMEs who need to track approvals of externally generated documents
For teams wanting a centralized workflow for both Office and PDF file reviews
How it works
Users assigned PDF document reviews within Pursuits

1. Default Assignments on Pursuit Types
If you routinely create the same set of Pursuit Assignments for each new Pursuit, then you’ll be pleased to hear that we’re introducing the ability to configure a set of Default Assignments for each Pursuit Type on your hub.
Admin users will see a new ‘Assignments’ tab when creating or editing a Pursuit Type, where they can configure a list of Pursuit Assignments that should be triggered upon Pursuit creation, so that each new Pursuit starts with the right tasks in place every time.
From this new 'Assignments' tab within Pursuit Types, Admins now can:
- Create, edit, and delete default assignments
- View all default assignments in a grid with sorting, search, and paging
- Pre-define Assignments that will be automatically created for every new Pursuit created for that Pursuit Type.
Key benefits
- Eliminates repetitive manual steps
- Ensures workflow consistency across the same type of Pursuit
Key use cases:
Automatically creating a series of standard tasks for each Pursuit Type
Ensuring that Assignments required by your internal processes are always created when users create new Pursuits
2. Assignment UI Improvements
With this new release, we’re also pleased to introduce two Assignment UI enhancements designed to speed up your assignment creation workflow when it comes to assignment names and assignees.
- Auto-generated assignment names: You can now have QorusDocs save you the time and trouble of giving each new assignment a name by simply leaving the ‘name’ field blank.
- Quicker assignee selection for ‘self-assigned’ assignments: For those who create assignments for themselves, you’ll be pleased to see that your name will now appear at the top of the assignee drop-down list – enabling you to quickly select yourself as the assignee, without having to scroll down a long list.
Key benefits
- Speeds up Assignment creation
Key use cases:
For proposal managers and coordinators who need to create multiple assignments and want to reduce repetitive naming work
For Pursuit team members who want to create a personal to-do assignment in a document or a Pursuit and want to self-assign quickly

1. New Document-level Assignments: Assign entire documents from Pursuit Content
We've added a new ‘Assign’ action, available exclusively in the ‘Contents’ tab in the Pursuit workspace, which enables users to assign entire documents to coworkers.
The ability to assign an entire document is designed to offer a better and more streamlined experience, reducing friction, improving accountability, and keeping fast-moving reviews on track without managing multiple inline assignments. An example of a typical use case would be to assign an entire proposal document for review and approval, prior to sending it to a client.
Users will be able to access the ‘Assign’ action in both Hub Central and in the QorusDocs Add-ins in the ‘Contents’ tab in any Pursuit, and for the following supported file types: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Key benefits
- Reduces friction
- Faster document handoffs
- Simplified review workflows
- Reduced task overhead
Key use cases:
- Assign an entire proposal document for review and approval, prior to sending it to a client.
2. Dynamic Content Smart Fields: Merge Pursuit Documents in Smart Templates
With this new release, we're introducing a new option to Dynamic Content Smart Fields that enables users to select Pursuit content they wish to include in the output document they are creating.
Users belonging to the Admin or Designer user role can now choose a 'Content Selection Type' when creating a Dynamic Smart Field. This determines where users will select content from when generating documents - either from a Content Source or from a Pursuit.
Key benefits
- Useful for users who have added content not found in your hub’s shared libraries to a Pursuit and wish to merge that content into a template.
Key use cases:
- Merging selected Pursuit Content into pre-proposal planning templates.
