In our newest release, planned for April 6th, you can look forward to the following new features and improvements:
- Clip with a Word style template
- URL File Types Support Enhancement
- Power BI Assignment Reporting Enhancements
1. Clip with a Word style template
The QorusDocs Clip makes it possible for your whole user community to contribute their knowledge to your shared content libraries by enabling you to instantly save new and re-usable content from documents you're currently working in.
With this release, you can now automatically apply a Word style template that contains all your brand colors, fonts, and styles to the content you’re clipping. This way, no matter what styles are used in the source document, the Clipped Document will always be on brand with the correct styles applied from your template.
For those who need to cater for multiple styles, you can set up a unique Word style template for each Content Source. The Content Source you clip to will then determine what Word style template gets applied.
Before you begin, the ideal template would be a completely blank document with only your Word Styles and no content at all within the body of the document. Headers and footers are fine though if you’d like to set those up.
Here’s an example of a Word style template:
For Admins
Those belonging to the Admin user role can associate a Word style template to each Content Source in your QorusDocs Hub.
To do that, go to the ‘Save Locations’ tab in the Content Source edit screen, and then with at least one clip location selected, click to upload or change the Word style template for clipping:
User View
For those clipping content while working in Microsoft Office, you’ll now see a new ‘use style template' checkbox available near the ‘Save Clip’ button:
Here's some important information we want to draw your attention to You can check this box as long as it is not greyed out. If it is greyed out, that means that there’s no Word template setup for this Content Source. Speak with your QorusDocs Admin to enable this. |
When you open the document you have clipped, you’ll see that the document contains all your Word template styles and that the right ones have been automatically applied:
2. URL File Types Support Enhancement
With this release, we’ve improved the way in which we support URL file types in the Search with the following improvements:
- The default action for URL file types has been changed to ‘Open’, so that it is quick and easy to open URLs directly from the search results in a new browser tab.
- We’ve introduced a new URL icon that is displayed next to URL search results so that it is easier to tell that you’re looking at a URL file type
- You can now use the File Type filter to filter based on URL files
