This article will guide you how to connect Dynamics 365 Sale Stage to Hub Central and use it to recommend content for your Opportunity based on Dynamics 365 Opportunity stage.
Connecting your 'Sale Stage' field has a couple exceptions from the regular flow. If you want to connect a different field please follow this guide instead.
Create a new Smart Field in Hub Central and give it a relevant name, e.g. Sale Stage (1). For the Field Reference you must type in 'stepname' (2). Set Type to Single Select (3). Lastly, list the values with the numbers before each stage (4):
1-Qualify
2-Develop
3-Propose
4-Close
As seen in the image below. Then click 'Save' (5).
Note: Failing to copy 'Field Reference' and List Values text precisely as described here will break the connection between Content Hub and Dynamics 365.
Next, make sure your Sale Stage Smart Field is added to your default Pursuit Type. Learn how you can add a Smart Field to the Pursuit type here.
After your Sale Stage Smart Field is part of your Pursuit Type you can apply Smart Rules around it to recommend relevant content based on the stage of your Opportunity. Learn how to apply Smart Rules here.
