The Pursuit Workspace in your QorusDocs Hub

Pursuits are collaborative workspaces where your team members can come together and collaborate on documents related to a strategic proposal, an RFx response, or any other business critical document you need to collaborate with coworkers on.

You can view the progress of assignments, see who is working on which documents, and statistics about customer engagement with shared content in your Pursuit workspace.

In this article, we'll cover the following:

Accessing Recent Pursuits

If it’s not the first thing you see as you visit the Home page in Hub Central, click on the ‘Recent Pursuits’ tab to bring up a list of the top 10 most recent Pursuits where activity has occurred and where you are a member of that Pursuit.

By activity, we mean viewing, editing, creating or closing a Pursuit - and the activity can be performed by any member of the Pursuit team.

In the Recent Pursuits view, you can resize columns to better view the information they contain by hovering your mouse until you see the 'grab handles' and dragging them:

Locating a specific Pursuit

When the Pursuit you wish to access is not available in the Recent Pursuit list, then go to the left nav menu and click on Pursuits under Hub Central.

Here you can also filter the Pursuits by Pursuit Type, Creation date, Outcome, Status, and Owner, or directly search for a specific Pursuit by typing the name in the search bar:

You can also use the left nav menu to navigate to a full list of all the Pursuits you have access to, organized by Pursuit Type.

For example, in this demo instance of QorusDocs, to access a full list of all Proactive Proposal Pursuits, we would click on 'Proactive Proposal'.

Please note that since Pursuit Types are configurable, the list of Pursuit Types in your QorusDocs instance may differ from what is shown in the screenshot above. You can learn more about how to configure Pursuit Types here, and how to control the list of Pursuit Types visible in the left nav here.

There are several ways to locate the Pursuit you're looking for. You can browse through the list, or you can use the Search to search for Pursuits by title or owner:

Alternatively, you could use the filters, available on the right side of your screen, to narrow your search by Pursuit created date, outcome, status, and owner. The filters work the same way as shown above when accessing Pursuits from the Pursuits under Hub Central.

When accessing your Pursuits, QorusDocs remembers the filters you set during your session. As you adjust filters and work within the grid view, your selections will stay active as long as you remain in that view. However, if you navigate away—whether by logging out, closing the browser tab, or refreshing the page—the filters will reset to their default settings upon your return. This ensures the grid view always starts with a clear, consistent baseline for every new session.

The Created Filter

You can quickly filter your Pursuits using a pre-defined timeframe or by setting your own custom date range:

The Outcome Filter

If your organization keeps track of Pursuit outcomes, then you will see a list of all the custom outcomes that have been configured for your QorusDocs instance, for this specific Pursuit Type:

The Status Filter

Here you can filter by Pursuit Status. This list will include any custom statuses that your organization has configured for this Pursuit Type:

The Owner Filter

Here you can filter by Pursuit Owner. This list will include all the people who have created Pursuits in your QorusDocs instance for the Pursuit Type you're viewing.

Then, there is the option to sort the list of Pursuits you are seeing on your screen. Simply click on the arrow icons that appear next to each column header to sort the view:

Once you've located the Pursuit you're looking for, simply click on the Pursuit Title to open the Pursuit workspace.

The Pursuit workspace explained

The Pursuit workspace in the Hub Central is organized into two main sections as follows:

Think of the Content tabs as the place you go to when you want to work with Content, and the Project tabs, when you're managing work or collaborating on this Pursuit.

The Content tabs include:

  • Contents: These are documents that are specific to this Pursuit. It includes the documents you are collaborating on, attachments and files you've uploaded to the workspace.
  • Recommended: These are documents and templates from your re-usable content library that have been Recommended by an Admin user for this type of Pursuit and based on the Pursuit information.
  • Search: Here you can access, search, and work with library content.

The Project tabs include:

  • Standard Fields: This area contains basic information about your Pursuit. Every Pursuit has the same set of Standard Fields, regardless of the type of Pursuit.
  • Smart Fields: This area contains custom information that are specific to your organization. Different types of Pursuits can have a different set of Smart Fields associated with them.
  • Members: This is a list of the people and/or user groups who currently have access to this Pursuit.
  • Assignments: Here, you will find a list of all the task assignments created for this Pursuit and across all documents associated with this Pursuit.
  • Shares: If you use Share and Track, this tab will contain detailed viewership and engagement analytics for all the Pursuit documents (in the 'Contents' tab) that have been shared using QorusDocs Share and Track.
  • Answer Reports: If you use Auto Answer, then here's where you'll find a dashboard that reports on the overall completeness of all documents where Auto Answer has been used to get to draft.

Just above the Project tabs, there's a top navigation bar for the overall Pursuit. The first three shortcuts/buttons do the following:

Then, clicking on the cog icon reveals a dropdown menu with actions for managing the Pursuit. The actions you see will depend on your user role.

Here's where you'll find the 'Change Status' option, where you can change the status of your Pursuit as it progresses through the process:

Clicking on 'Change Status' pops up a new modal window on your screen which allows you to choose a status from a dropdown menu and then save the status change:

If you need to share a link to this Pursuit's workspace in QorusDocs, the click on 'Get a link':

And in the modal window that pops up next, you will be presented with a link to the Pursuit which you can copy and share with team members. Please note that this link will only work for people who already have access to the Pursuit.

And then, finally, you can use the last two icons to perform the following actions.
