How to convert your files and save as PDF in your Pursuit

When collaborating on important documents, there are times when you need to share a final version for review—without allowing further edits.

The Save as PDF feature in QorusDocs makes this easy. Instead of manually converting files outside the system, you can now generate a PDF version directly from QorusDocs and have it automatically save back to your Pursuit with the same file name, keeping your documents organized.

How It Works

With Save as PDF, you can quickly convert and save your document in just a few clicks.

  • The PDF is created from the latest version of the document.
  • It is automatically saved in the same Pursuit location as the original file.
  • The file retains its original name but is stored in PDF format.

This streamlined approach means you no longer have to download, convert, and re-upload files manually - saving time while maintaining version control.

Troubleshooting

While Save as PDF is designed to work seamlessly, you may occasionally encounter an issue when converting a file. Here are common problems and how to resolve them:

File Size Warning

If your document exceeds 1 GB, QorusDocs will not convert it to a PDF and will display the following warning message: "Warning Your file size is too large to convert to PDF, please consider converting a smaller file."

To resolve this:

  • Reduce file size by compressing images or removing unnecessary content.
  • Split the document into smaller sections before attempting the conversion.

Permissions Error

If you do not have the correct edit or save permissions for the document’s location, you will see this message: "Failed to Save as PDF. You do not have correct permissions to perform this action. Read more."

To fix this:

  • Confirm that you have the necessary access rights to the file location.
  • Contact your administrator to adjust your permissions.

General Error

If the system encounters a technical issue, you may see this message: "Failed to Save as PDF due to technical issues. Please try again later."

In this case:

  • Wait a few minutes and try again.
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  • If the issue persists, contact IT support for assistance.
