Target Audience: SharePoint Admins
QorusDocs uses the SharePoint Term Store to manage metadata and taxonomy. This guide walks through creating a dedicated "QorusDocs" group under Site-level Term Groups, and giving your Content Team the access they need to manage terms and term sets within it.
Creating the QorusDocs Group
-
In the SharePoint Admin Center, go to Content services > Term Store. Make sure you're logged in with an account that has permission to manage the Term Store.
-
Under Site-level Term Groups, select New Group and name it "QorusDocs."
-
Assign your Content Team as Group Manager for this new group. This is what allows them to create and manage the terms and term sets QorusDocs relies on.
- Review the group settings, then save.
Testing Access
Confirm the Content Team can actually use what's been set up. Have a team member (or simulate their access) try to create a term set under the new "QorusDocs" group in Site-level Term Groups.
If they run into permission issues, revisit the Group Manager assignment above and retest.
Confirming Setup
Once a Content Team member has successfully created a term set under the QorusDocs group, let your QorusDocs Product Specialist know that:
- The Term Store group has been created under Site-level Term Groups
- Permissions are set
- The Content Team has verified they can add term sets
This confirms the team is fully equipped to manage terms and get the most out of QorusDocs.
