Computer and Office 365 Requirements for Qorus

You should be ready to use Qorus if you have the following in place:

  • One of the following Office 365 plans:
    • Office 365 Business Premium
    • Office 365 ProPlus
    • Office 365 Enterprise E3
    • Office 365 Enterprise E4
    • Office 365 Enterprise E5
  • Desktop installations of one or more of the following Office 365 apps
    • Word 2016, to use the Qorus Document Builder Add-in for Word
    • Outlook 2016, to use the Qorus Email Builder Add-in for Outlook
    • PowerPoint 2016, to use the Qorus Slide Builder Add-in for PowerPoint

For the best experience, we recommend using the Click-to-Run version of the Office 365 desktop apps.

To use Qorus, the minimum required Click-to-Run version is 16.0.6965.x

For those not familiar with Click-to-Run, it is a Microsoft streaming and virtualization technology that you can use to install and update Office products directly from your Office 365 portal. You can get the Click-To-Run version of the Office 365 desktop apps at the following link, after signing in with your work or school account: https://portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx

If your organisation uses the traditional Windows Installer-based (MSI) method of installing and updating Office, you can use Qorus - provided your Office version is at least 16.0.4432.x or higher.

Please note that you will need local admin privileges on your machine to install Office 365 / 2016. If you need to speak with your IT about your Office 365 installation, here's a great article that sums up the different ways in which your IT can deploy Office 365 in your organisation.

Additional Helpful Resources from support.office.com:

  • Browser*
    • Internet Explorer 11

*For the Qorus Productivity add-ins to display in Office correctly, you'll need to have at least Internet Explorer 11 installed. It does not need to be your default browser however. Qorus customers on the Author Plan can access and work with the Qorus Management Portal using any of these browsers: Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer.

Please also note that if you're on Windows 8, you may be required to upgrade to Windows 8.1 before you can install Internet Explorer 11.
