QorusDocs offers flexible view options to make it easier for you to browse, find, and interact with your content.
Whether you're using the QorusDocs Add-ins for Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or Outlook, or working in Hub Central through your browser, you can easily switch between List View and Tile View for a more personalized and productive experience.
This guide will walk you through how to switch between List View and Tile View—and what each view option is best for.
What Are List View and Tile View?
- List View presents your content in a vertical list with detailed information such as file name, modified date, and source location.
Best for: Working with Word documents, and other non-visual content where metadata is important.
- Tile View displays your content as large, clickable tiles. These tiles visually emphasize the file type and provide a brief file description, making them ideal for browsing more visual content like images or PowerPoint slides. This view is especially useful when you're scanning for recognizable visuals without needing to open each file individually.
Best for: Browsing PowerPoint slides, image files, or other visual content where seeing a preview is helpful.
How to Switch View Modes
- Navigate to the folder or library containing your files.
- In the left side of the content display area, click on the icon to switch the view mode.
Your selected view is remembered per Content Source, making it easier to pick up where you left off.
In both List View and Tile View, you’ll still be able to preview files, insert content into your document, and pin documents as favorites using the same action icons.
Best Practice Tips
-
Viewing Word documents and text content, using List view allows you to view the last date the document was modified with part of the content.
-
If you’re browsing images or slide decks, Tile View provides a quick visual overview, making it easier to find what you need.
- For file types such as URLs, ZIP archives, and Excel spreadsheets—where visual previews aren’t available—List View is the recommended mode, as these formats do not display thumbnails in Tile View.
