Once the standard QorusDocs Power BI report is up and running, some organizations want to go further — tracking pursuit and bid performance against the Smart Fields your team captures, or blending QorusDocs data with CRM and SharePoint for a fuller picture of what's driving wins. This guide covers those two optional reporting paths.
Both paths are customer-owned. QorusDocs provides the underlying data through OData, Pursuits, and Pursuit Smart Fields, but dashboard design, business logic, visuals, measures, and publishing are handled by your internal Power BI Resource.

Before you start This article assumes the standard QorusDocs Power BI report is already set up, published, refreshing, and (if needed) embedded in QorusDocs Hub. Both paths below start by duplicating that working report, so set it up first if you haven't already. Building from scratch instead? Grab the standard Power BI report template here. |
Which Reporting Meets Your Needs?
| Option | Use it when… |
| Pursuit & Bid Tracking Dashboard | Your proposal/BD team wants win/loss, active pursuits, industry, service line, or other Pursuit Smart Field reporting. |
| Advanced CRM, SharePoint & QorusDocs reporting | You want to combine QorusDocs data with CRM, SharePoint, or other business systems. |
Pursuit & Bid Tracking Dashboard
For teams who want reporting beyond standard activity — active pursuits, status, win/loss, or proposal volume by industry, service line, product line, geography, or customer type. This depends on how your organization configures Pursuits and Pursuit Smart Fields, so it's optional and customer-owned.
Steps
- Confirm the standard report is working first — this preserves the OData connection and model logic.
- Duplicate the working report and use the copy as your starting point.
- Hide or remove standard-report pages not needed for this dashboard.
- Identify the Smart Fields to report on — e.g. win/loss, industry, service line, product line, region, customer type, pursuit status, assigned team. See Power BI: How to Filter Pursuits by Smart Fields.
- Build the required tables, slicers, visuals, and measures.
- Publish the dashboard to Power BI Service and configure scheduled refresh — reuse the same QorusDocs OData credentials, unless your organization needs a different credential strategy.
- Embed the dashboard in QorusDocs Hub, if needed, and confirm access with the users who need to view it.

Advanced CRM, SharePoint & QorusDocs Reporting
For teams who want to combine QorusDocs data with other systems — CRM opportunity data, SharePoint content data, financial data, or similar. It depends on your external systems, data quality, permissions, and Power BI data model, so it should be handled by your internal Power BI resource.
Steps
- Connect to multiple data sources — SharePoint libraries for content data, CRM (e.g. Salesforce) for opportunity data, and QorusDocs for pursuits. Load all necessary tables from each system.
- Create relationships between Opportunities (CRM), Pursuits (QorusDocs), and content stored in SharePoint.
- Develop calculated tables and columns, for example:
- Content Used in Opportunities — content used in Closed Won and Closed Lost opportunities
- Content Link (SharePoint) — a custom column linking to the document in SharePoint
- Create key metrics and visuals, for example:
- Closed Won Rate — DAX-based win rate for opportunities and pursuits
- Content Usage by Industry, Practice Group, or Solution — filtered content performance
- Win Rate by Content Type — how content types (proposals, presentations) affect win rates
- Publish and automate refresh — publish to Power BI Service (requires Power BI Pro) and set up automated refresh across CRM, QorusDocs, and SharePoint data. If sharing with team members without Pro licenses, ensure Power BI Premium capacity is in place.
- Embed the dashboard in QorusDocs Hub, if needed, and confirm access with the users who need to view it.

Final Steps
- Review credentials and permissions — confirm proper access for SharePoint, CRM, and QorusDocs connections; document credentials for future reference and security.
- Maintain and update reports — review reports and data models regularly to ensure they still meet business requirements.
