Target Audience: Microsoft 365 (M365) Global Administrators
Objective: This guide outlines the steps M365 Global Administrators need to follow to grant QorusDocs access to various Microsoft 365 services. These steps are crucial to ensure that the team using QorusDocs can fully utilize the platform’s features, including integration with SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Azure Active Directory. Logging in to QorusDocs and granting SharePoint Online access are required, while connecting OneDrive, Teams, and Microsoft 365 Groups (Azure AD) are optional based on the team's needs.
1. Log in to QorusDocs (Required)
2. Grant Consent for SharePoint Online Access (Required)
- Optional Steps (If Needed by the Team)
3. Grant Consent for OneDrive for Business Access (Optional)
4. Grant Consent for Microsoft Teams Access (Optional)
5. Grant Consent for Microsoft 365 Groups Access (Optional)
Prerequisites
- The admin must have been added as an Administrator in QorusDocs by the core team or champions.
- The admin must log in to QorusDocs before beginning the consent process.
Required Steps
1. Log in to QorusDocs (Required)
Action:
- Visit https://www.qorushub.com.
- Log in with your M365 Global Administrator credentials.
Important: When prompted, ensure that you check the box labeled "Consent on behalf of the organization." Without this, users will be repeatedly asked for individual consent, and access will be inconsistent.
Why it’s needed:
- Logging in as the administrator allows you to grant the necessary consents for the team to use QorusDocs within your organization. Without this, the team will not have access to the platform.
2. Grant Consent for SharePoint Online Access (Required)
Action:
- After logging into QorusDocs, go to the Content Sources section in the left navigation menu under Manage.
- Click Add, and select SharePoint Online Library.
- Copy and paste the SharePoint Online site URL from your browser’s address bar (navigate to the homepage of your SharePoint site to get the URL).
- Click Next and grant consent for QorusDocs to access SharePoint Online.
Important: When prompted, ensure that you check the box labeled "Consent on behalf of the organization." Without this, users will be repeatedly asked for individual consent, and access will be inconsistent.
Why it’s needed:
- SharePoint Online is the primary repository for content that your team will need to access and manage through QorusDocs. Granting this consent ensures that the team can fully use SharePoint’s document libraries within QorusDocs.
Optional Steps (If Needed by the Team)
3. Grant Consent for OneDrive for Business Access (Optional)
Action:
- In QorusDocs, go to Content Sources and click Add, then select OneDrive.
- When prompted, grant consent for QorusDocs to access OneDrive for Business.
Important: When prompted, ensure that you check the box labeled "Consent on behalf of the organization." Without this, users will be repeatedly asked for individual consent, and access will be inconsistent.
Why it’s needed:
- If your team frequently uses OneDrive for storing and managing individual or shared files, granting this access will enable them to work with OneDrive documents directly within QorusDocs. While this step is optional, it enhances functionality for teams relying on OneDrive.
4. Grant Consent for Microsoft Teams Access (Optional)
Action:
- In the Content Sources section of QorusDocs, click Add, then select Microsoft Teams.
- Sign in to Teams using your M365 credentials and grant QorusDocs permission to access Teams content.
Important: When prompted, ensure that you check the box labeled "Consent on behalf of the organization." Without this, users will be repeatedly asked for individual consent, and access will be inconsistent.
Why it’s needed:
- If your team uses Microsoft Teams for collaboration, this step allows them to manage, search, and interact with files stored in Teams channels through QorusDocs. This integration is optional, but it can streamline workflows for teams using Teams heavily.
5. Grant Consent for Microsoft 365 Groups Access (Optional)
Action:
- In QorusDocs, go to Settings > User Management, click Groups, and either create a new group or edit an existing one.
- Link it to a Microsoft 365 group in Azure Active Directory.
- Grant consent for QorusDocs to sync group memberships from AD.
Important: When prompted, ensure that you check the box labeled "Consent on behalf of the organization." Without this, users will be repeatedly asked for individual consent, and access will be inconsistent.
Why it’s needed:
- This step allows QorusDocs to sync users from your directory into custom groups within QorusDocs. It is optional but can make managing user access easier for teams that work with large groups in AD.
Final Steps
6. Verify Consents
Action:
- Check that the required SharePoint Online consent has been granted, as well as any optional consents (OneDrive, Teams, Groups) that are relevant for the team’s needs. You can confirm this in the Search section of QorusDocs.
Why it’s needed:
- Ensuring that these consents are in place allows the team to fully access and utilize QorusDocs with the services they depend on for document management, collaboration, and content sharing.
7. Notify the Onboarding Team
Action:
- Once all necessary consents have been granted, notify the QorusDocs Onboarding Consultant.
- This step ensures that the setup is complete, and the team can start using QorusDocs as intended.
