April 23rd 2018: Introducing Hub Central

The latest Qorus release is here! And here are some of the key highlights:

  • The Qorus Management Portal has a new name: Hub Central
  • Pinned documents and Search are now available in the Hub Central Dashboard
  • Search experience tweaks: the new ‘filter’ button
  • Support for the creation of new email messages from .msg files

THE NEW HUB CENTRAL

We’ve renamed the Qorus Management Portal to Hub Central, as we introduce new functionality that extends its use to beyond that of managing your Qorus Hub.

Please note that we are in the process of updating our help materials, and so you’ll still find references to the Qorus Management Portal (or QMP) for a while until all the updates are complete.

THE NEW HUB CENTRAL DASHBOARD

The Dashboard in the new Hub Central now includes easy access to all your Pinned Documents (1), as well as a new Search panel (2) much like the one you’ll find in all the Qorus Add-ins. This means that you can access all your Qorus connected content, using any web browser, even if you don’t have the Qorus Add-ins for Office 365 installed.

Here are some of the ways in which you can work with your pinned documents, as well as the search results in the search panel:

  • Download files to your computer
  • Open files in your browser (supported Office files open in Office Online)
  • Preview (and copy and paste from the preview)
  • View content usage insights
  • Create new documents, emails and presentations from templates

SEARCH EXPERIENCE TWEAKS

We’ve heard your feedback and have tweaked the Search experience slightly.

Instead of clicking inside the search box to display the list of available search filters, you can now click on the new filter button at any time to refine your search. The filter button essentially allows you to toggle the visibility of the search filters, in and out of view, and makes it easier to start searches by selecting a few filters, rather than typing a search term.

SUPPORT FOR EMAIL TEMPLATES

We now support the creation of new emails from email templates stored in .msg format, in SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business. Just as you would with a document or presentation template, click on the ‘create’ button for a .msg file.

If the email template contains delimiters, the Smart Fields form will pop up, allowing you to very quickly personalize your email.

When you’re ready, click on ‘open’:

And the email will open in Outlook, or in your default email client:

Please note that the latest ‘Design’ features released in March for Word and PowerPoint templates, such as Smart Field Types and Smart Rules, are not yet supported for email templates.
